An interview with a Russian mercenary, engaged in banditry in the Caucasus Emirate, has been published by several media outlets in Moscow. A Russian terrorist, "a sergeant commander in a motorized rifle brigade" of the Russian Armed Forces gang, told newsmen about the military situation in the Province of Nokhchicho (AKA Chechnya), where he is currently engaged in banditry, and in the Caucasus Emirate as a whole:
"In Chechnya, Russian forces are being attacked by the militants, just as it was before. These are attacks on military convoys, on individual vehicles, there are IEDs attacks on the roads, bombardments of checkpoints. We have lately been attacked last August. A convoy of interior ministry troops was attacked a month ago, so is it in Chechnya. But in Dagestan the attacks occur every day".
The invader complained about inefficiency of Russian weapons:
"Recently, we have been given new equipment, but, as always, most of us didn't get it. It was only given to the battalion "Vostok", consisting of former militants.
Old weapons have been replaced for "new and better" ones, and the result is as usual: 70 percent of AKSU rifles given to infantry are faulty, and we try to understand, what these weapons were made of. It would be better if they had given us slingshots, the mercenary laughs.
7.62 caliber rifles for reconnaissance parties have been replaced for 5.45, rifles, and they are also old. The most important thing is that personal protective gear was entirely new. Without this protective kit Russian soldiers cannot fight. But infantry has to buy body amours with their own money. 500 new helmets were distributed in the brigade, and the brigade consists of 3 thousand soldiers".
The Russian gangster spoke about Chechens:
"The majority of Chechens are very religious. They treat Russian military as invaders. I don't know what their behavior towards civilian Russians is. I haven't seen a single Russian civilian, who was not related to the military. They are nationalists here. Only one out of ten Chechens is not a nationalist.
The power in Chechnya belongs to Kadyrov and his gang of "special police regiment named after Akhmad Kadyrov". In fact, these are his personal bodyguards and security forces. There is no freedom of speech here. A serious opposition is totally out of the question in Chechnya. There are no free elections in Chechnya".
For her part, a Moscow correspondent of The New York Times, Ellen Barry, said in her report from Shamilkala (former Makhachkala) that the number of attacks by the Mujahideen "doubled to 201 last year from 100 in 2008". These figures were provided for her by Russian puppets
Russian minions are now alarmed, as the American correspondent writes. She says:
"The authorities tried to offer relief to the police. The blue stripes were removed from most police cars and officers were told they no longer had to wear uniforms on the way to work.
In a weird touch, every traffic officer in Makhachkala, the capital city, is now backed up by a riot policeman in camouflage, Kalashnikov assault rifle at the ready", writes the journalist.
