Another Russian Convoy Attacked in Chechnya

A Mujahideen group under the command of Amir Imam bearing small arms and subbarrel grenade launchers attacked from a close distance a Russian military convoy consisting of two armed personnel carriers and one Gaz-66 truck on Monday, November 6, 2006, according to a report from the Chechen news agency Daymokk citing a spokesman of the Military Committee of the CRI State Defense Council Majlisul Shura  The action took place on the highway Shali-Jokhar 150 meters from a crossing to  the village of Mesker Yurt.  Several Russians were left dead and wounded in the attack..

 

Mujahideen bearing automatic weapons also attacked point-blank a Russian humvee in the area of the town of Shali on the road leading to the Avtury village on Tuesday, October 7, 2006. As of press time, no details of Russian casualties were reported.

 

The Mujahideen suffered no losses in both operations.

 

The Imam detachment is operating as a unit of the North-Western Front under the command of Colonel Abubakar Elmuradov.
